Founded in 1975, the Tampa Bay Rowdies is Tampa Bay's original professional sports team. But its league collapsed in 1984, leaving the once-popular team adrift until it finally folded in 1993. The franchise was reborn in 2008 and was playing to enthusiastic, yet extremely modest crowds when it approached Dunn&Co. with an equally modest budget. So we embraced the Rowdies' ‘indie band’ vibe that its fans were connecting with and created a series of posters and stadium graphics that immediately caught the attention of fans, city influencers, PR professionals, sports executives and other teams from around professional soccer. In fact, fans requested the ads as posters and T-shirts they could purchase. Best of all, revenue increased 15% over the previous season.
