At Dunn&Co. we are incredibly fortunate to be able to make our home in two imaginative cities. Nestled into creative enclaves that draw inspiration from their quirks, both places are filled with an energy that is so unique, they create a flavor all of their own.
Our Tampa office, once a cigar factory in Ybor City, is over 100 years old and surrounded by a vibrant collection of murals and creative spaces. Our London office, with its industrial quirks from a former life as a WW2 airplane factory, is in the middle of a city so culturally rich, it’s impossible to take it all in. One city, still fairly wild, moves at the pace of a slow, humid burn. Hot from nearly 365 days of sun. The other is refined, fast and vast. Teeming with a cultural diversity that brings with it an unrivaled worldliness.
Many of the buildings we work and share space in represent a visual identification of the past–what came before is honored by what is happening now. Whenever I start to feel stagnant or down I just take a step back, go for a walk and observe all of these things. Sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn’t, but I always come back grateful. – Jeff Skatzka
