An army of construction cranes in Tampa’s downtown stands at attention while an estimated 150 people migrate within the city’s borders every day. We’ve got the world’s most innovative tech companies setting up shop in our backyard while investors pour time and money into improving how we all live, work, and play in the Bay. There’s no doubt about it: Tampa is hungry to position itself among our nation’s best cities.
The Dunn&Co. team is hungry for the same, and at the 2020 American Advertising Awards in Tampa, it showed. Friendly competition was in full effect all night long. Local agencies like Dunn&Co. brought their best and most enviable work to raise the bar of what Tampa advertising can and should look like. This past year we rolled up our sleeves and got our hands dirty to challenge the status quo. It paid off. In 2020, our shop was honored to take home 17 Golds, 15 Silvers, three Best of Bays and the coveted overall Best of Show award, for a total of 36 ADDYs.
We like to win. But our competitive streak extends beyond this shop. It’s why we’re investing in mentorship programs for Tampa’s next generation of ad folk, consulting with startups and hosting public workshops. Tampa is growing up, and we, with other talented leaders in our community, want to co-parent this city on a national stage. When Tampa wins, so do we. And unless the whole community is lifted up, we’ll never get there. There’s still work to be done. So let’s get to it.
