Tampa’s own NY NY Pizza has nine locations (and counting), including an Ybor City spot bordering on cultural landmark status. What it doesn’t have is the over-hyped, over-stuffed tricks and gimmicks the national chains roll out on the daily to distract from their substandard food. And that’s just fine with NY NY’s legion of loyal fans. With a look directly inspired by NYC transit, and an attitude any native New Yorker would appreciate, we tightened up and toughened up this real pizza chain’s branding so it could punch well above its weight. High-flash photography met with bold type treatments and headlines that solidified NY NY as the chain of true NY-style pizza joints in Tampa.
