MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE LEADING BRAND PLANNING/BRAND STRATEGY AT AN AGENCY. MUST HAVE SIGNIFICANT WORK EXPERIENCE ON HEALTHCARE CLIENTS (MED DEVICE, PHARMA, HEALTH SERVICES, OR SIMILAR)
Dunn&Co. seeks a seasoned Director of Brand Strategy to serve on the leadership team of DunnHealth. We’re looking for someone with HCP marketing experience who is excited about joining a deeply-rooted creative culture, committed to using their original thinking to differentiate in the healthcare space, and skilled in developing compelling strategic client presentations.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
1. Leading the brand strategy service offering for all DunnHealth clients
- Understanding the client’s business needs and designing a project approach to develop a strategy that delivers on client needs
- Leading workshops, conducting qualitative research, and developing value propositions and message maps for healthcare brands and the launches of new medical products
- Coordinating with quantitative research vendors and evaluating data for insights to inform strategy development
- Developing fresh insights about the attitudes, needs, behaviors and relationships of all stakeholders
- Uncovering and interpreting relevant trends in the client’s space
- Assessing competitive strategies & uncovering white space opportunities
- Developing and delivering the brand strategy, from vision and essence to positioning and messaging architecture
- Partnering with creative teams to ensure that the creative approach achieves the strategic objective
- Partnering with copywriters to ensure that the content developed achieves the strategic objective
- Evaluating and contributing to channel and tactical plans to ensure that the strategic intent of the positioning is achieved
- Working closely with analytics to develop relevant KPIs
2. Assist in new business efforts by developing unique strategic approaches and identifying opportunities to add value to existing client roster
- Act as a key component of the new business pitch team
- Develop brand strategies that can differentiate Dunn&Co from agencies competing for the same business
- Present ideas persuasively and respond to client questions with a smart, thoughtful points of view
3. Lead a talented team of 2 strategists to support growing business needs
- Help to mentor and grow newer strategists in the craft
Skill Set
- Awareness and command of the unique vocabulary and mindset that is the world of healthcare, medical products and pharma
- Strong writing skills
- Understanding of medical claims and referencing
- The analytical capability and objectivity to develop evidence-based conclusions
- Ability to
- Quickly gather, absorb, synthesize and report on large, diverse data sets (qual and quant)
- Integrate qual & quant learning to develop brand and communications strategies
- Persuasively present ideas and insights
- Partner effectively with both clients and agency team members, including account, creative, medical/clinical, digital/channel planning, analytics, media and more.
- Evaluate creative through a strategic lens, and deliver those evaluations constructively and helpfully to the creative team
- Visualize strategic thought in expressive presentations, delivered with confidence and authority
- Develop, run and move results forward during client-facing workshops
Qualifications

- Hands-on working style, leadership qualities, and a positive, collaborative spirit
- 7-10 years planning experience at an advertising agency
- Experience marketing to HCPs
- Management/team leadership experience
